Piggie Poo offers expert guinea pig care taking services to help fund raise for the rescue. All volunteers are carefully screened and highly trained in cavy husbandry and we offer only the very highest standards of care to all our guest - foster and boarders alike.

Rates start at just $10 a day or $60 per week, per cage - not per piggie!
Extended stays 4 weeks and over are just $40 per week, per cage!

Additional services like grooming, nail clipping and anti-parasitic treatments are available, for an additional cost.

Discount Neutering Program: A Community Outreach

Piggie Poo Rescue is thrilled to announce that we were awarded a Spay & Neutering Grant from PetSmart Charities this year!

As you know, guinea pigs are the only long lived rodent that is commonly sold in pet store unaltered. These funds will allow us to heavily subsidize the high cost of guinea pig neutering so that we are able to directly reduce the huge numbers of unwanted litters in our community.

The discounted cost of neutering is $85 and spays are $100 and includes up to 7 days of boarding, pain medication and post surgical care by our expert staff as recovery is often very care intensive for the piggies.

Dr. Lorna Lanman and Dr. Kevin Wright has agreed to be our Community Outreach partner for this program, though you must go through the rescue to take advantage of the program and direct all inquires to Piggie Poo only.

Foreclosure: Assistance for Families and Pets

During this time of unprecedented number of foreclosures, Piggie Poo Rescue, in an effort to help keep families and their small pets together, has established a Foreclosure Program for guinea pigs with families in need.

Small pets are certainly the voiceless victims of the current economic downturn and have been left behind in foreclosed homes or surrendered to shelters in records numbers. Many families are struggling to keep and feed their small pets and we are here to help.

To ease the current hardship, Piggie Poo is offering our services to assist families in caring for their pets during the current economic crisis, including:

  • Free temporary boarding care if the family becomes displaced
  • Fee-free surrenders if the family is in financial crisis
  • Feed and supply donations to help keep the piggies in their homes
  • Assistance with emergency medical care
