Surrendering Your Pet

Please remember that even though your children may not play with their piggies as often as you would like, home is the best place for your cavies. Rescue is always a last resort!

Our first priority at Piggie Poo is to rescue high risk cavies in municipal shelters, humane societies and other private rescue groups in Arizona, California and Utah.

If we have room in foster, or in urgent cases when a pig is ill or in mortal danger, their families are experiencing hardships, or you find a guinea pig abandoned in a public location, please call us at 623-551-2798. We will always do our best to help.

All private party surrenders require a monetary donation to help support the piggies while in foster and to help offset medical expenses, unless you can demonstrate and qualify for our Foreclosure & Financial Crisis Program.

Supply donations are always welcome and encouraged to help ease your cavy's transition into foster, however supply donations are not accepted in lieu of monetary donations as the rescue has very specific housing and feeding programs in place that are generally not met by supply donations.

We don't want you to surrender your guinea pig!

Please contact us today if you need…

  • to reignite your love affair with your piggie
  • advice on behavioral and care taking issues
  • a referral to a Vet or other organization

Never abandon your pet to “nature”.
It’s a certain death sentence.
